Puppy Kindergarten

Puppies 10 to 20 weeks

Class Description: Class Description: Class Description: Open Enrollment Puppy Training

You just got a new puppy - now what? Well, unless you want a trail of shredded paper and chewed boots in his furry little wake, the next step is training. Puppy training and socialization are key to preventing behavior problems like fear and aggression in adult dogs.

Our comprehensive and fun puppy kindergarten covers the basics like sit, down, leave it, and loose-lead walking. You’ll also learn how to develop one of the most important (and safe) skills a dog can have: a bulletproof recall, so your puppy always comes running at the sound of your voice. Puppy Kindergarten gives your puppy the best possible start in life, and we’ve added the convenience of open enrollment. You never have to wait for a class to open or new class cycle to begin.

Focused Puppy

20 + weeks

Class Description: Class Description: Open Enrollment for Older Puppies

Your puppy needs focus. Directed socialization exercises use a preventive medicine approach to behavior, focusing on building active attention from puppies when they are distracted.

akcStarPuppyThis class prepares your puppy for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test and certificate, where you’ll be able to demonstrate skills like loose-lead walking, accepting a friendly stranger, sitting and lying down on command, and social behavior around other puppies.

Puppy K graduates will expand their skills; beginner puppies learn the basics.

Puppies don't need prior training to take this class.

Puppy Playgroup

10+ weeks

Class Description: Class Description: Play and Socialization for Puppies

Your puppy needs play. Socializing with other puppies is key to their canine development and behavioral health. It’s also great exercise and stimulation, which keeps their healthy both mentally and physically. Playing with other puppies builds confidence and resilience, and teaches her good body language around other dogs and humans. Best of all, you’ll go home with a happy, tired dog ready to snooze at your feet.

Playgroup is for puppies who have not demonstrated reactivity or aggression with other dogs; if you have any questions about whether your puppy is suitable, talk with one of our trainers.

Every puppy playgroup is supervised by a training instructor. Owners should remain in the room during the entire class.
