Focused Puppy, 20+ Weeks
Class Description: Open Enrollment for Older Puppies
Your puppy loved her Puppy Kindergarten class and mastered all the commands - but the teenager months have hit, and now she wants to explore and investigate everything. She’s too busy to come when she’s called, and it seems like she’s completely forgotten her manners. Your puppy needs focus. Directed socialization exercises use a preventive medicine approach to behavior, focusing on building active attention from puppies when they are distracted. This class prepares your puppy for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test and certificate, where you’ll be able to demonstrate skills like loose-lead walking, accepting a friendly stranger, sitting and lying down on command, and social behavior around other puppies. Puppy K graduates will expand their skills; beginner puppies learn the basics. Puppies don't need prior training to take this class.
How this class will benefit you at home:
Your puppy will master the commands and behaviors that make a great family dog, including settle on a bed, come when called, and leave it.
