Backyard Agility
Class Description: Agility Skills You Can Bring Home
Agility is fast-paced and fun, provides great exercise for both dog and handler, and dogs of any breed and energy level can take part. So why not bring it home with you? This class will teach you and your dog all the basics of agility and how to navigate a course - and you’ll get the skills to build your own equipment. This is a fun introduction to agility in a non-competitive environment.
You and your dog will learn control commands such as stay and settle, passive and active attention skills, and other tools for managing a high-energy dog on and off the field. You’ll also get introduced to all the agility skills, from jumps and weave poles to tunnels and teeters.
You’ll come home with weekly training tips and do-it-yourself building instructions for each obstacle.
How this class will benefit you at home:
Agility encourages positive, happy control and attention skills
High-drive dogs can burn off energy and stay interested in training
Agility is a great strengthening exercise, improves coordination, and helps your dog stay fit and trim
